Store Config is one page with a section list and a keyword search over every setting. This guide walks the first-day basics — company info, currency, formats, numbering — explains sales test mode, and then documents every Store Config section, option by option, with defaults.
Almost everything that shapes how PHP Point Of Sale behaves store-wide lives on one page: Store Config, at the bottom of the left menu. The page shows a list of sections down the left side — click one to jump to its settings — and a keyword search at the top that filters every setting on the page. Change what you need, click Save, and the change applies store-wide immediately.
Access to the page is gated by the Store Config module permission — see permissions and templates. Most stores change a handful of settings and leave the rest at their defaults; this guide covers the basics first, then documents every section and every option so you can look anything up.
Find any setting with search
At the top of Store Config is a keyword search over settings. Type what you are after — "logo", "currency", "receipt", "loyalty" — and the page narrows to matching settings and highlights the section they live in. It beats scrolling every time, and it is the fastest answer to "where is the setting for…?"
First-day basics
Company information and logo
- Open Store Config → Company Information.
- Enter your Company Name (required — it prints on receipts and shows in the browser title bar), your Website, and your Tax ID if you have one (it prints on receipts; each location can override it with its own).
- Click Choose File under Company Logo and upload a PNG, JPG, GIF, or WebP image. It is resized to fit and prints at the top of receipts, and also appears on your sign-in screen. Check Delete Logo and save to remove it.
- Click Save.
This section also shows a read-only summary of your subscription: Plan name, Subscription status, and Billing — see billing and subscription. The address and phone number on receipts come from the location record, not from here — see locations and registers.
Currency, formats, and regional settings
A few settings under Currency and Application Settings make the app read like it belongs in your country:
-
Currency Symbol (default
$) and the optional Currency Code label (e.g. USD). - Currency Symbol Location — Before Number (default) or After Number.
- Number of decimals — Let system decide (Recommended), which shows at least 2 decimals and more when needed, or a strict 0–5.
-
Thousands Separator (default
,) and Decimal Point (default.) — so 1,234.56 or 1.234,56, your call. - Date Format — 12/30/2000 (default), 30-12-2000, or 2000-12-30.
- Time Format — 1:00 PM (default) or 13:00.
- Week Start Day — Monday or Sunday, so weekly views begin on your business week.
- Store Opening Time / Store Closing Time — your hours, used by scheduling features.
- Language — the store default (default English); each employee can pick their own, as covered in customizing the menu and modules.
Numbering and item lookup
Under ID Numbers you set the auto-increment starting values for item, item kit, sale, and receiving numbers (each defaults to 1). If you are moving from another system and want your numbers to continue where the old ones left off, set the starting values before you ring your first sale — the counters only move forward. A Sale ID Prefix (default POS) under Sales is added in front of every sale number on receipts and reports.
Item Lookup Order (under Application Settings) decides which item fields the sales screen matches first when you scan or type. The default order is: Item ID, UPC/EAN/ISBN, Product ID, additional item numbers, serial numbers, variation item numbers, then ecommerce product ID. If your item numbers and barcodes overlap and lookups keep grabbing the wrong product, reorder this list.
Test a sale safely with test mode
If you want to walk through the whole sales process — items, payments, receipts — without touching your records, put the register in test mode. While it is on, completed sales are not saved: they do not appear in reports, do not change inventory, and do not affect your cash count.
- Open Sales in the left menu.
- Above the customer information panel, click the ellipsis (...) button.
- Select Enable test mode.
- A red notice appears at the top of the register: "You are in test mode. Sales will NOT be saved". Ring sales normally — receipts print marked TEST MODE TRANSACTION.
- To leave, click Disable test mode in the notice (or in the same ... menu).
Details worth knowing:
- Test mode is per sign-in session, not store-wide — other registers keep selling for real.
- Suspending sales is unavailable while in test mode.
- Store Config → Application Settings has two related settings: Test mode turns test mode on for your session from Store Config, and Disable test mode removes the Enable test mode option from the ... menu entirely so employees cannot switch it on.
Every Store Config section, option by option
The rest of this article is the reference. Two conventions: unless a default is stated, checkboxes default to off (unchecked) and text fields to empty; and settings named after a location, item, or module interact with that feature's own guide, which each section links.
Company Information
Covered above: Company Logo, Delete Logo, Company Name (required), Tax ID, Website, and the read-only plan/billing summary.
Taxes
Every option here is explained in depth in setting up taxes. Currency
Covered above: Currency Symbol, Currency Code, Currency Symbol Location, Number of decimals, Thousands Separator, Decimal Point. Two more: Exchange Rates defines alternate currencies accepted at payment time — see multiple currency and exchange rates — and Currency Denominations defines the bill and coin denominations your registers count with when closing a register.

Common questions
Where do I find a setting when I don't know which section it's in? Use the search box at the top of Store Config — it filters every setting on the page by keyword.
Who can change Store Config? Any employee whose permission template grants the Store Config module. Everyone else does not see it in the left menu. See permissions and templates.
How do I test the checkout without messing up my numbers? Enable test mode from the ... menu on the Sales screen. Sales rung in test mode are not saved anywhere — no reports, no inventory changes, no cash count. See the test-mode section above.
How do I make my sale numbers continue from my old system? Before your first sale, set Sale ID Auto Increment Starting Value under ID Numbers to the next number you want. The counter only moves forward, so do it early.
Where do I change the store address that prints on receipts? On the location record under Locations, not in Store Config. Store Config's Company Information carries the company name, logo, website, and Tax ID.
Why do scanned barcodes pull up the wrong item? Your item numbers and barcodes probably overlap. Reorder Item Lookup Order in Application Settings so the field you scan is matched first.
How long do employees stay signed in? Session expiration in Application Settings controls it: On Browser Close (default) or a fixed time from 10 minutes to 168 hours.
Do settings apply per location or store-wide? Store Config is store-wide. Location-specific values — address, phone, taxes, some pricing — live on the location record; where both exist, the location's value wins for that location. See locations and registers.
I changed a setting and nothing happened — why? Make sure you clicked Save at the bottom of the page, then reload the screen you expected to change. Settings apply to new activity — completed sales keep the values they were rung with.
