If you do not have an ethernet port available to plug in your card reader, you can plug it into a computer and then share the internet access from your computer to your card reader. Follow the steps below to set up a card reader to share internet access with a Windows computer.
Click in the search bar at the bottom left of your computer and type Control Panel. Select the Control Panel App in the results.
Under Network and Internet select View network status and tasks.
Click Change adapter settings in the left menu.
Find your internet source for your computer, such as Wi-Fi, and right-click to select Properties.
Go to the Sharing Tab. Check the box to Allow other network users to connect through this computer internet connection. Click the dropdown for Home Internet Connection and select which Ethernet port you are going to plug the card reader into. Hit OK in order to save the change.
Your computer should now provide your card reader with internet access.
