Required Hardware
The required hardware to read cards is the VeriFone VX 805.
Upon signup with Mercury (now Vantiv/Worldpay), you will receive an enrollment letter with the necessary information. Follow the steps below to set up credit card processing.
Install Required Software
PHP Point Of Sale requires three pieces of software to be installed for credit card processing. We have created an installer that bundles the required software into a simple-to-use package. Follow these steps to use our installer:
-
Download the installer from http://download.phppointofsale.com/PHPPOSVantiv.exe. This will install all required software on your Windows machine.
-
After downloading, double-click the executable and follow the on-screen instructions. The default values rarely need to be changed.
- Restart your computer after installation.
- After restarting, the software will launch automatically. You will need to configure the software as described below. Note: This software must always be running to use credit card processing.
The three pieces of installed software are:
- Device driver for the VX 805 terminal
- Datacap dsiPDCX/dsiEMVUS Listener (for communication with Vantiv)
- Datacap NETePay client (also for communication with Vantiv)
Setup NETePay Software
Follow these steps to prepare NETePay for processing transactions:
- Launch NETePay Software
- Setup NETePay
- Retrieve the merchant parameters
For Step 2, you will need your DeploymentID provided by our technical support department.
- A working internet connection is required.
- Firewalls should allow traffic on port 9000.
Launch/Open NETePay
- If not already open, double-click the NETePay icon on your desktop.
Setup NETePay
- On the first launch after installation, NETePay will prompt to obtain a serial number over the Internet from Datacap’s PSCS (Payment Systems Configuration Server) system.
- Click "Obtain Serial Number".
The dialog will display the 10-digit serial number assigned to NETePay. Click "OK", and another dialog will appear indicating that NETePay has not yet retrieved merchant parameters from Datacap’s PSCS server. Click "OK" again to return to the NETePay main status window.
If the parameter file has been created on Datacap’s PSCS server by Vantiv for the merchant account, proceed to Step 3 to retrieve the merchant parameters. If not, contact our technical support to create the merchant parameters.
Retrieve the Merchant Parameters
- Select "Merchant Parameters" from the "Setup" drop-down menu.
- Click "Load New Parameters" and then "Yes" on the following screen.
- Click "I have my DeploymentID" (provided by Vantiv Technical Support).
- Enter the Deployment ID received from Vantiv’s technical support, then click "OK".
- Verify the displayed merchant demographic data:
- If incorrect, click "Cancel" and retry from the beginning of Step 3.
- If correct, click "Yes, This is the Correct Merchant".
- If NETePay successfully retrieves the parameters associated with the entered Deployment ID, click "OK" to return to the Setup Merchant Parameters screen.
- Click "OK" to return to the main status window. Setup is complete, and NETePay is ready to process transactions.
