PHP POS Payments is the house-branded processing. Standard runs Valor and Dejavoo EMV terminals; Premium adds Equinox devices plus an in-app portal for batches, virtual terminal, disputes and terminal media. This guide covers hardware, every credential field, and location setup.

PHP POS Payments is the house-branded card processing for PHP Point Of Sale. It comes in two flavors — Standard and Premium — and both drive the register directly: the sale total goes to the terminal, the customer pays, and the approval lands back on the sale automatically.

What both flavors do

Standard and Premium both take EMV payments on a physical terminal — chip, tap, and swipe — and both integrate fully with the register. Payment amounts flow to the terminal without retyping, approvals attach to the sale, and refunds and voids go back through the same integration. Both also support:

• Saved cards — store a card as a secure token and charge it later (subscriptions, invoices, repeat customers).
• Tips — enable per register on the Registers & Terminals tab; see payment types, tips and split payments.
• A separate Debit tender — appears when Show Debit payment option when using integrated credit card processing is on in Store Config (only PHP POS Payments and Dejavoo get this).
• Manual entry — key a card from the register menu's Use Manual Entry toggle when the physical card won't read.
• A transaction history inside the app — the register menu's View/Edit Card Transactions page for voids, refunds, and captures.

Standard vs Premium hardware

In the Credit Card Processor dropdown these map to three choices: PHP POS Payments Standard (Valor hardware), Dejavoo (P1/P8 hardware), and PHP POS Payments Premium (Equinox hardware). Compare features and pricing on the PHP POS Payments page; rates are quoted per business rather than listed flat.

Sign up

1. Request a quote or enroll from the PHP POS Payments pages (or ask sales).
2. After approval you receive an enrollment letter with the credentials and terminal identifiers you will type into the point of sale. Valor Standard merchants also get an email from Valor to create a portal login at online.valorpaytech.com. Keep both.
3. Hardware ships to you. Give each terminal power and a network path (Wi-Fi, Ethernet, or cellular where the model supports it) before you configure the software.

Standard: network the Valor terminal

VP100 (countertop):

1. Power the device off and turn it over.
2. For Ethernet, plug the cable into the LAN port, power back on, and tap the Connection icon on the home screen.
3. For Wi-Fi, power on and choose Yes, Connect, pick your store's SSID, enter the password, and confirm with OK on the pad.
4. To switch connection types later, tap the Connection icon at the top of the touch screen and choose Wi-Fi.

VL110 (portable):

1. To use cellular (GPRS), flip the device over, remove the back cover, insert the SIM card in the bottom-right slot, and replace the cover.
2. Power on, tap the Connection icon, and select GPRS — or complete the Wi-Fi prompt the same way as the VP100.

Standard: get your Valor credentials

Valor Standard credentials come from the Valor merchant portal:

1. Sign in at online.valorpaytech.com with the login Valor emailed you after approval.
2. Click My Settings in the left menu, then the API Keys button at the top.
3. Click the plus (+) button to add a device and select the EPI of that terminal.
4. Check the 2FA box and click Save.
5. Use the copy icons to save the App Id and App Key — you will paste them into PHP Point Of Sale next. Repeat for each terminal (each EPI gets its own App Key).

Standard: configure the location

1. In PHP Point Of Sale go to Locations and edit the store.
2. Open the Integrations tab.
3. Check Enable Credit Card Processing and choose PHP POS Payments Standard.
4. Enter the Valor App ID (the App Id you copied). Valor Override Channel ID stays blank unless support gives you a value.
5. Open the Registers & Terminals tab.
6. On each register that takes cards, enter that lane's Valor EPI and Valor App Key.
7. Click Save.

No initialize step is needed — Valor terminals talk to the cloud directly. A status dot next to each register shows whether its terminal is reachable.

Standard on Dejavoo hardware

Dejavoo P1 and P8 terminals are Android devices: connect power, join the store Wi-Fi from the terminal's settings (or plug in Ethernet on the P1; the P8 also supports cellular), and confirm the terminal shows online before pairing it.

1. Edit the location, check Enable Credit Card Processing, and choose Dejavoo.
2. Enter the Merchant ID from your enrollment.
3. On Registers & Terminals, enter each lane's Terminal ID, Dejavoo Auth Key, and — if you take keyed or online payments — the Freedom eCom Token from your enrollment materials.
4. Save.

Premium: network the Equinox terminal

• Equinox 6200 — compact customer-facing pad; Wi-Fi setup steps ship as a PDF with the device (6200 Wi-Fi guide).
• Equinox 8500 — larger customer display; typically Ethernet. If the terminal must share the PC's network instead of a wall jack, use Windows Internet Connection Sharing: share the PC's active internet adapter onto the Ethernet adapter the 8500 is plugged into (Control Panel → Network and Sharing Center → adapter properties → Sharing).

Give the terminal power and confirm link lights / on-screen network status before you enter Premium keys.

Premium: configure the location

Premium credentials are provided by PHP POS when you sign up — they are not pulled from the Valor portal.

1. Edit the location, open Integrations, check Enable Credit Card Processing, and choose PHP POS Payments Premium.
2. Enter, exactly as provided:
   • PHP POS Payments Merchant ID
   • PHP POS Payments API Key
   • PHP POS Payments Bearer Token
   • PHP POS Payments Signing Key
3. On Registers & Terminals, enter the Terminal ID for each register that has a Premium device.
4. Click Save.

Premium adds optional on-terminal behavior, all on the same Integrations tab:

• PHP POS Payments Test Mode — run charges against the test environment while you verify setup. Off by default; turn it off before live sales.
• Prompt For Loyalty / Prompt For Name / Prompt for E-Mail / Prompt For Phone Number — ask the customer for those details on the terminal during payment.
• Ask for missing information for existing customers — only prompts for details the customer record does not already have.
• Terms & Conditions — text presented on the terminal for the customer to sign; at the register a Show Terms and Conditions checkbox next to the payment controls triggers it per sale.
• Pre Work Order Authorization Terms / Post Work Order Terms — terms text signed on the terminal when a work order is created or completed.

Premium: the backup gateway

A Premium location can hold a second processing path so card sales continue if the primary gateway has trouble. On the Integrations tab, fill the fields labelled (Backup Gateway) — PHP POS Payments Merchant ID, PHP POS Payments Consumer Key, and PHP POS Payments Secret Key — then click Get Authorization Key to generate the PHP POS Payments Authorization Key; the Authorization Key Created field records when. A Test Mode For Backup Gateway? checkbox targets the test environment.

At the register, a cashier switches over from the register menu with Use Backup Gateway and back with Disable Backup Gateway. The toggle only appears when the backup fields are filled in.

The Premium portal

Premium merchants get a portal inside the point of sale. It opens from the left menu entry PHP POS Payments Portal (also in the register menu), and is visible to employees with the Sales permission action View/Edit Card Transactions:

• Transaction history and batches — look up transactions, filter by date and type, export to Excel, and see how batches settle.
• Virtual terminal — key a card for phone or mail orders, with an emailed receipt.
• Void, return, and capture — reverse a charge, refund a chosen amount, or capture a pre-authorization when the final amount is known.
• Terminal media library and slideshows — upload images and build slideshows that play on the terminal between payments.
• Terminal branding — put your store's look on the customer-facing device, on a schedule if you like.
• Survey questions with results — ask a question on the terminal after payment and review the answers.
• Terms templates with a signed-terms log — manage terms text and keep a record of who signed what.
• Statements, stats, disputes, and ACH funding — monthly statements, transaction statistics, chargeback/dispute records, and deposit activity for reconciling.

Standard (Valor) and Dejavoo merchants get the View/Edit Card Transactions page — date-filtered transaction list showing sale ID, amount, cardholder, masked card, entry method, and response, with Void (full or partial), Refund, Reverse, and Capture actions — and Premium adds the Batches page next to it.

Go live

1. Ring a test sale — with Premium, keep PHP POS Payments Test Mode on for this, or use the register's own test mode — and choose Credit: the terminal should show the amount for chip, tap, or swipe.
2. Confirm the approval attaches to the sale and the receipt shows the card tender.
3. Turn test mode off and take a real payment.

Common questions

What's the practical difference between Standard and Premium? Hardware and the portal. Standard runs Valor (and Dejavoo) terminals with credentials from the Valor portal; Premium runs Equinox customer-facing devices, adds terminal media, branding, surveys and signed terms, and includes the in-app portal with statements, disputes, virtual terminal, and ACH activity.

Where do my credentials come from? Standard: the Valor merchant portal (My Settings → API Keys) — App Id and one App Key per EPI. Premium: PHP POS provides the Merchant ID, API Key, Bearer Token, and Signing Key at enrollment. Dejavoo: your enrollment letter.

Do I need to click Initialize credit card reader? No — that button belongs to the Datacap listener family. Valor, Dejavoo, and Equinox terminals connect to the cloud on their own; the status dot on the Registers & Terminals tab tells you they're reachable.

The register says the terminal is offline. Now what? Check the terminal's power and network first. The offline banner offers Use Manual Entry so you can keep selling by keying cards; Premium stores with backup gateway credentials can also switch with Use Backup Gateway.

Can I take EBT through these terminals? Yes, where your merchant agreement allows it — check Use Integrated EBT on the location. On Premium the integrated tender is EBT only (no separate EBT Cash tender).

Why doesn't a Debit button show at my register? With integrated processing, Debit appears only when Show Debit payment option when using integrated credit card processing is checked in Store Config → Payment Types — otherwise customers just pick debit on the pad.

Can I turn off signature capture? Yes — Store Config → Receipt has Disable Signature Capture for PHP POS Credit Card Processing, plus general signature options covered in taking card payments.
