Updates are applied to your cloud store automatically — no downloads, no maintenance window, no wizard. The Change Log in the account menu lists what each release changed, the sign-in screen shows the build date your store runs, and Request & Discuss Features is where to ask for what ships next.
New versions of PHP Point Of Sale bring features, fixes and compatibility work. They reach your store on their own: updates are applied automatically as part of the service, so there is nothing for you to download, schedule or run — including the database upgrades that ship with a release.
Updates arrive on their own
When a new version ships, it rolls out to your store without any action on your side — no maintenance window to plan, no upgrade wizard to babysit. You keep ringing up sales; the software underneath stays current.
That includes the unglamorous updates too: fixes and compatibility work for the browsers, devices and integrations around your store, not just headline features. If planned maintenance ever affects the service, an announcement banner appears on your store's sign-in screen ahead of time.
See what changed
- Click your name/avatar in the upper-right corner of the app.
- Choose Change Log. The What's New page opens in a new tab and lists each release — new features, improvements and fixes, newest first.
It is worth a skim whenever something in the app looks new or has moved: the answer is usually a release note away. Getting help covers the other places to look when something surprises you.
Check which build your store runs
The sign-in screen shows a Built on line with the date and time of the build your store is currently running. Because updates are automatic, this is mostly a confirmation that you are current — and a useful detail to include if you ever contact support about behaviour that seems version-specific: sign out (or open the sign-in page in a private window) and read the Built on line.
Right after an update
Everything is designed to refresh itself:
- The app's stylesheets and scripts carry version-stamped URLs, so your browser fetches the new ones automatically.
- If your store uses Enable Offline Mode, the offline cache is keyed to the build, so it re-downloads the new version on its own the next time the register loads while online — see selling offline.
If a screen ever looks half-updated or misbehaves right after a release, do a hard refresh (Ctrl+F5 on Windows, Cmd+Shift+R on Mac) to clear the browser's leftover cache. If that does not settle it, troubleshooting common issues has the next steps.
The mobile app shows the same cloud store, so it is already running the new version too; updates to the app shell itself come through the App Store or Google Play like any app — see using the mobile app.
When a new feature appears — or doesn't
Some of what ships in a release is a plan entitlement rather than a general change. If a release note mentions a feature you cannot find, check Store Config → Subscription plan → Entitlements: features like PrintNode printing, the Label Designer and Genie unlock per plan and offer in-app trials. Billing and your subscription explains how entitlements and trials work.
Suggest what ships next
The same account menu (your name in the upper-right corner) includes a Request & Discuss Features link, which opens the feedback website. That is the place to request features and vote on other customers' requests — releases are shaped by what gets asked for there.
Common questions
Do I have to install updates or schedule downtime? No. Updates are applied to your store automatically, database changes included. There is no updater to run and no window to plan.
How do I find out what changed in the latest release? Click your name in the upper-right corner and choose Change Log — the What's New page lists every release's features and fixes.
How do I check what version my store is on? Look at the Built on date on the sign-in screen. Support may ask for it when investigating version-specific behaviour.
The app looks broken since the update — what do I do? Hard refresh the browser (Ctrl+F5 / Cmd+Shift+R). Offline-mode registers refresh their cache automatically the next time they load while online. Still off? See troubleshooting common issues.
A release note mentions a feature I don't see. Why? It is probably a plan entitlement. Check Store Config → Subscription plan → Entitlements and see billing and your subscription — many entitlements offer a free in-app trial.
Can I ask for a feature? Yes — your name/avatar menu → Request & Discuss Features opens the feedback site where you can post and vote on feature requests.
