In layman's terms please - I don't have a mobile device for my PHP POS I use a computer. Can I somehow download the app, use a bluetooth scanner to do my inventory, then upload it to the big cloud in the sky? See my lack of computer knowledge...! Help
There isn't a way to do this without a mobile iOS or Android device [tablet/phone]. The iOS or Android device can be paired with a wireless barcode scanner which will let you do inventory. (Socket Mobile 7CI is the name of the device)
I have a Nadamoo wireless (not bluetooth) barcode scanner. Can this be paired with an iOS/Android device? It came with a USB stick (like the Logitech wireless ones, but bigger).
Well, I can tell you that the Nadamoo scanner worked nicely with the software, but had a lot of trouble scanning labels generated from our Zebra printer. Where it easily read labels generated by our inkjet printer, it could read maybe 10% of the ones from the Zebra.
It seems that a standard 1D laser and LED scanners require a certain degree of contrast between the bars and the background, but that 2D "barcode imagers" require much less. I found one of the latter on Amazon for only $60 - 2D, wireless, bluetooth, compatible with pretty much any device, and a 4-1/2 star rating (I'm not sure if I should be mentioning any brands here). It's worked fantastically for us. It's plug and play, and it worked right out of the box. I've used it wirelessly with a PC, and through bluetooth with an Android tablet, and it's worked great with both.

You can get a Bluetooth socket mobile and pair it to an iOS or android phone/tablet and use our app on App Store or google play.

Can I get a bluetooth usb for my computer and do it that way?
Bluetooth is about 30-50 ft so it really wouldn’t work unless you had laptop
My computer is in the middle of my store and my store is not more than 50ft in any direction. That should work?
Sort of. The tricky part is if you make an error you have no way to verify the item scanned correctly

I wouldn’t know if it will work well. On our iOS and android apps we use socket mobile scanner

I came across an article that was particularly good at explaining barcode reading problems, https://www.barcodesinc.com/news/the-most-common-causes-of-unreadable-barcodes/
