We have some customers that are in our database twice - is there a way to merge them and keep the histories for both?

Not at this time. However we have noted this as a feature request for possible inclusion in a future release
I'd like to see this, too. This comes up a lot.

Has this been included now?
Also, is it possible to make another customer field (e.g. the phone number field) reject repetitions? Just like the UPC field in items works.
I'd like to prevent duplication and mix-ups in future.
We have a message if we think it is duplicate already when adding new. We plan to improve more in future
