Product variations - Item number
Is there a way of automatically issuing item numbers to product variations, or am I doing something wrong?
I have a item with the system allocated number of 1052, so I manually entered 1053 and 1054 for the variations of that item
However when entering the next product, the system issued 1053 for it meaning I had one product and a variation with a different product with the same item number.

We do have a system generated number. I just did a Hot-fix for 16.0 that will display this system number on the items --> edit --> variation screen. If you are a cloud customer this has been rolled out; if you are download you can get here.
