You can add more custom fields. You can create the fields in phpMyAdmin and then change the following in application/config/constants.php NUMBER_OF_PEOPLE_CUSTOM_FIELDS

Either way works. If you already use store accounts than that method makes sense. If you are only using store accounts for that purpose; then a gift card would make more sense
