Re-arrange Items in a Category from the Sales Screen
Is there an option to re-arrange the item grid in the sale screen? My sale screen is shown by the category but the items within that category are sorted incorrectly. For example, I have items with sizing 1-1/2" and 1/2". The system would put 1-1/2" before the 1/2" and 3/4" last. It should be 1/2", 3/4", and then 1-1/2".

That would be nice! I think the grid just goes in order of the products, so will look just like your list under Items. You can do some things - a space at the front seems to move an item to the start of the list, for instance. Or I might add an x, y, or z as a prefix to move an item to the end of the list (though it's not exactly an elegant solution!).
What I'm wondering is whether it might be practical for Chris to handle it like the Status labels in Work Orders. There's a field for "sort order" that seems to do exactly what we're after. I'm just not sure how cumbersome it would get with lots of Items.
Hi bob, thanks for sharing the workaround method. I guess we'll live with this for now.
For what it's worth, I think the best implementation is to allow for a drag-and-drop of the category tiles. This will solve many of the cases where people will have 1 1/2" instead of 1-1/2".
