Thank you for feature request. Will see if others are interested. For now I have added to our internal tracker

I use Zoho Books, too (does everything QBO does, but for a fraction of the price).  An integration would be nice.

However, it depends on what kind of integration.  The QB integration ended up being too general for me.  And I know there get to be complications if it's too detailed.

Dib, what I've been doing is exporting sales data from PHP, putting it into an Excel template to modify some columns and change column headers, and then import it into Zoho - and can get the exact level of detail I want,  It's a little tedious to set up at first, but it ends up being much faster than any manual entry.

Thank you for your suggestion Bob, however, some end users are not familiar with how to export data from a database. So it would add value if PHPPOS is integrated with several cloud accounting systems to satisfy their clients' needs. The type of integration that I am looking for is to import 'automatically' all sale transactions into Zoho books. Zoho has exposed restful web services that can be easily called to implement the automated process of importing sale transactions. Below is the link.

    https://www.zoho.com/books/api/v3/

I have written a java program that runs at the beginning of each month to import all the transactions of the previous month from PHPPOS into Zoho books automatically without user intervention. The problem now is that I have to keep monitoring the changes applied to the PHPPOS database after each release and update my end of the month program to ensure a successful run without any faults or exceptions.

We don't have a direct integration now; but that could change.

However instead of reading database each month you could use our API instead

Dib, you're certainly right about some user's comfort level with exporting/importing data, and it's only one option - but not a bad one if you don't know how to code.

I've developed a real reluctance to rely on integrations since my last experience.  Some POSs will tout that they integrate "seamlessly" with your financial software, when, in reality, they do anything but.  I won't mention the name of the POS I used, but I was using it with Xero at the time.  I had the expectation that all the sales, item detail, etc. would sync "automagically", as they say - but I spent FAR more time addressing all the sync errors and other problems than I ever had just entering everything manually.  And it was only after I had invested a huge amount of time and already committed a number of grievous errors that I was told all their "ground rules" for successful integration - and was told that the only way to make it work at that point was to start from scratch in both pieces of software,  I figured that if I had to do that, I'd do it with entirely different software.  And never rely on a POS-accounting integration again.

However, I take it that you've not only developed this program, but you also run a business?  The combination seems almost essential in getting it to work the way it needs to.  In that last experience, anyway, it became obvious that the POS programmers - though creating a really slick user interface - lacked the insights of someone that would be using the software in real life.

I should mention that it seems that Chris has built a number of things into PHP POS that would have prevented most of the problems I had in that experience. And I've really been impressed at what Zoho has to offer - I'd recommend Books to anyone.

I have to ask, though - with the software you've written, is an integration in the POS even necessary?  Could your software be marketed to use as the integration?
