Barcode Scanner Audible Sound Doesn't Align with POS
There's an issue with the barcode scanner sounding off a *beep* when scanning. However, if the cursor isn't focused on the item field, nothing will added to the system for checkout. This creates a false positive tricking the staff into thinking the item is added. Has this happened to anyone?
The workaround I've been using is to disable the scanner beep and solely rely on the sound from the POS when an item is added. It would be nice to use the default scanner sound.

There really isn't a way to do this. The barcode scanner is like a keyboard so it doesn't communicate with application directly. Your workaround is the best solution.
